Many horticulturists and agronomists subscribe to the belief that foliar feeding of plant nutrients is an idea of dubious merit or that foliar feeding is only suitable as a supplement to address isolated micro-nutrient deficiencies. However, the effectiveness of foliar plant feeding has been known for years.

In the 1950's a group of researchers at Michigan State University first demonstrated that foliar feeding of plant nutrients has major advantages over traditional soil fertilization.

In a series of experiments the researchers compared the amount and speed of nutrient absorption by plants when nutrients were supplied as a foliar spray versus traditional soil application near the roots. They found that plants absorbed 95 percent of the foliar-fed nutrients, compared to only 10 percent of the total amount supplied in the soil.

Likewise, the scientists observed that foliar-fed nutrient assimilation and use by the plant was immediate, whereas it was very slow in the case of soil application. The researchers also discovered that the foliar- applied plant nutrients moved rapidly to all parts of the plant, approximately at a rate of one foot per hour, whereas the movement of nutrients in plants fed through the soil was considerably slower.

From these findings the MSU researchers reached the conclusion that only a small amount of foliar-applied plant nutrients can replace a much greater amount of soil applied nutrients, and the foliar-fed nutrients are immediately available.

We believe it is important to publicize these scientific findings and educate growers of the benefits of foliar fertilization. We invested years of research, in order to optimize the efficiency of our foliar plant nutrition products.

We conducted numerous field trials using our foliar plant nutrition formulations and noted that foliar feeding of plants with our formulations is associated with intensified photosynthesis and increased assimilate translocation within the entire plant, which, in turn, leads to notable improvement in plant vigor and resistance to environmental stress and diseases. As a result, growers can be confident that our products will have an immediate impact and our crop nutrition program will deliver a significant increases in yield and crop quality.

After years of research we are able to say with confidence that foliar feeding of plant nutrients is not only cost- effective and environmentally friendly, but it can also lead to higher yields and better crop quality.
